Algemene Informatie over Handbal Competities
In Nederland worden handbalcompetities aangeboden voor verschillende varianten van de sport, namelijk zaalhandbal, veldhandbal en beachhandbal. Beachhandbal is een opkomende zomerse variant die steeds populairder wordt.

Veiligheid
De veiligheid van spelers, officials en supporters staat altijd voorop. Er zijn protocollen voor extreem weer, zoals een hitteprotocol en procedures bij slecht weer.
Organisatorische aspecten
Voor het aan- of afmelden van een team, het indienen van een dispensatieverzoek of het verplaatsen van een wedstrijd, zijn er duidelijke procedures. Het Nederlands Handbal Verbond organiseert regelmatig themabijeenkomsten over competitie gerelateerde onderwerpen. In maart 2025 staan er weer bijeenkomsten gepland.
